![]() The controls from the reboot are unchanged, save for a couple of additions. The same thing that made Tomb Raider great is what makes Rise of the Tomb Raider great, and that's enjoyable gameplay. ![]() Now, Crystal Dynamics are on the second chapter of their reboot, and Rise of the Tomb Raider is just as good, if not better, than the first chapter. The result was a fantastic game that stayed true to the series, yet showed Lara in a completely new light. #Rise of the tomb raider mods nexus how to#Instead, I left that appointment feeling rejuvenated by the opportunity to see Lara Croft in a new way: A younger, inexperienced adventurer just learning how to survive. Lara Croft was a staple of the industry, a legendary character, and I felt that her story may have been told as best as it could. I had always been a fan of the series, but felt that it had run its course. #Rise of the tomb raider mods nexus series#They're both good games, and if you're into survival/explorattion RPGs I really don't see any reason not to buy them.Almost three years ago, I visited with Crystal Dynamics, the developer behind the reboot of the Tomb Raider series at CES in Las Vegas. Plus, unlike Rise, Skyrim supports mods which increases the gameplay hours even more.īut, if you can afford it, just buy them both. I for instance, have several hundreds of hours invested on Skyrim and I haven't even explored the whole game yet. Rise just doesn't have this desperate survival feeling that the original TR (2013) had, but that's probably because the TR (2013) was something new and refreshing back in its time.īut nevertheless, Rise is a good game, though it does have some optimatization issues even with high end PCs (low fps and stuttering at certain and/or wide locations).Īs for Skyrim, you can't really compare these 2 games against each other, as they're completely different games.īut if you have limited budget and you want as much value for your money as possible, then pick Skyrim as it has much more content that the Rise has. ![]() Rise is a little disappointment for me, as it isn't as good as the original TR (2013) was. So to summerise, get the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ witcher 3 as it is better in pretty much every way and they didn't do a half assed "remaster" which has the same graphics as the original version with 2 or 3 new shaders over the top which are 10 times ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ than the modable ones. Less bugs - witcher 3 by far, skyrim is a glitchfest Mods - skyrim but witcher still has some good ones ![]() Side content - witcher 3 unless you like copy and paste dungeons and collecting 27 different types of claws to open doorsĬonent - this is debatable but witchers is definatly more polished and every mission feels different Not that Tomb Raider is bad it's pretty great, but if a choice needs to be made, I'd pick Skyrim or Witcher, as you'd get way more for the money you'll spend. Going off John's recommendation, I'd pick Skyrim (get game of the year edition) or the Witcher 3 way before I'd pick Tomb Raider. ![]() Want a mod-able experience in a game with a decent story, has vast lore that you can replay a LOT with many different playstyles? Skyrim. Want a rich story with amazing combat and story-telling? Witcher 3. A lot of ways it is, but Skyrim is still on it's own in what it does.
